Mary Baker
Biography
Mary, a resident of Massachusetts, received a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History at Elmira College in Elmira, NY, an M.A. in Painting at Northern Illinois University, and studied with Steve Hawley in Newburyport, Ma.
A realist, Baker paints with passion, depth and emotion and her
works often leave the viewer with a feeling of movement that speaks of
power and
emotion. Whether painting flowers, landscapes, or interior objects,
Baker
leaves you feeling moved by her compositions and her sense of light
shadow and color. You can see that she brings technical skills to the
canvas but chooses to overshadow this with a feeling of mood and
spiritual depth.
Baker has shown at many galleries up and down the Eastern US coast and is in many public and private collections thoroughout the US.
