Heath Ballowe earned a BFA in Studio Art from Virginia Tech in 2006. Influenced by powerful figures of masculinity, such at his father, Heath works to explore and define his view of the authority and sexuality of the masculine physical presence. Elements of Southern culture appear in Heath’s work through diverse tapestries, depictions of weapons, and expression of authority.
