Greg Haynes, a resident of Boston, earned a BFA in Photography from the Hartford Art School in West Hartford, Connecticut in 2003. Though primarily studying photography in school, Greg turned his efforts to painting in 2004. In changing medium, Greg stayed attuned to photographic quality through realism painting. His paintings of canvas, metal, and glass demonstrate his attention to light and shadow. The mundane objects he chooses to paint seem grand and important in their focused, rich setting.
Inspired by the success of photorealist artists like Steven Mills, Greg continues to explore realism and push his own ability in the creation of each new work.
