Linda Holt

Biography

Linda Holt, a resident of Massachusetts, earned a BS in fine arts from Skidmore College, a MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, and studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture with John Button, Joe Brainard, and Alex Katz. A recipient of numerous distinctions and awards, Holt has been a Trustee at Montserrat College of Art, a visiting artist and lecturer at University of Pennsylvania and a guest critic at FIT in New York. She is a recipient of the Henry Heinz Scholarship and won the Nathaniel Saltonstall Purchase Prize from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

Working with quick sweeping brushstrokes and a bold color palette, Holt’s paintings convey confidence and movement. The Koi pond and rain forest are subjects she often tackles as both lend themselves to the vibrancy and energy that is uniquely within Holt.

A widely collected artist, Holt’s works are in many prestigious collections within the United States and abroad.
